I think we should take a new born, and keep him in an environment with no color (just white) until he's like 10 then introduce him to colors. It would blow his fuckin mind.

oh my god, i've had this exact same idea before!!! except instead of keeping him from all the colors, you keep him for just one. oh shit, it would be even awesomer if you didn't let him see his reflection until he was ten xD

the colors is one thing, but not letting him see his own reflection is just unethical.

What do ethics have to do with seeing your reflection? It's not like people were innately unethical until they figured out that if you make water sit still and get the perfect angle of light that you can see yourself.

I mean come on, the world should be less concerned with the way we look.

I vote we banish the use of mirrors so the whole world will stop being so fuckin vain.

In The Giver there's no color in the story or something. Then the main kid discovers color..

Yeah. You're right. Their Utopian society managed to rid their world of color. He experiences color for the first time through his job.

That book was on of my favorite in middle school, everyone hated it. It's still one of my favorites, too bad it's banned from being read in schools now, the younger generations won't even know.

Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.

I hate to be "that guy" or a "debbie downer" but we talked about this in psychology..the newborn would be blind because their eyesight fully develops in several months and by the time it's ten it would definitely not be able to see color. They experimented with cats by taping their eyes shut till they got older and introduced them to light and they were blind and vice versa.

u cant really keep him from color. if he looks at his hands, hair, and god forbid a reflection he'll get some colors and then the people that feed him would have some colors on them unless they came out in all white suits covering their face. in that case this baby is gonna have a reeeaaallllyyy shitty life.

genetically engineer it to make it an albino kid with grey eyes. and he could be fed by white and black robots like in the Bjork music video "All is Full of Love". or marvin from the latest Hitchhiker movie. Apple could subsidize the white robots. product placement. especially if we made a TV show about this, a la Truman Show.

oh man, i just realized his BLOOD would still be red and his shit would still be brown. so until we can bleach the color out of those, the Plan cannot be executed.

This same idea is kinda like the book THE GIVER. Except its a whole society of people that don't see color and one day this kid sees the color red in the apple he is eating. He called it "Seeing Beyond".
